Oscar 2018

La 90° edizione della cerimonia degli Academy Award, noti come “Oscar”, si è tenuta al Dolby Theatre di Los Angeles il 4 marzo 2018, a partire dalle ore 17:00 americane. Anche quest’anno, come per l’edizione precedente, sono stati presentati da Jimmy Kimmel, che già nel discorso di apertura della serata raccomanda a tutti gli attori di aspettare un paio di minuti ad alzarsi per ritirare il loro premio, ironizzando così sulla grande gaffe dell’anno precedente che ha visto coronare come miglior film “La La Land” per rettificarlo poco dopo con il vero vincitore “Moonlight” interompendo così i festeggiamenti dell’intero cast del film già sul palco a prendersi gli applausi della folla.

Quest’anno, l’obbiettivo della cerimonia era dare importanza al cinema in primo luogo, con una visione più attenta anche per i temi caldi del momento di Hollywood: dopo il total black per i Golden Globe, una ventata di colore ha investito il tappeto rosso di Los Angeles, ma al petto moltissime le spille dell’iniziativa “Time’s up” contro la violenza sulle donne e gli abusi nel posto di lavoro.
Gli Oscar hanno così premiato il meglio offerto dal mondo del cinema durante il 2017, suddiviso in 24 categorie, e ha visto diversi primati: dal candidato più anziano Christopher Plummer a 89 anni d’età di grande carriera, al più giovane Timothée Chalamet con i suoi 22, un grande tributo Hollywood lo ha fatto a Meryl Streep, che correva per la sua quarta statuetta detenendo il record di nomination di sempre, ben 22.
Ma il vero ricordo di quest’anno andrà alla vincitrice come miglior attrice Frances McDormand, il cui discorso dedicato alle donne al momento della premiazione a portato a unirsi alla sua commozione tutta la sala in una standing ovation.
Per l’Italia, il film di Luca Guadagnino “Chiamami col tuo nome (Call Me by Your Name)” ha portato a ben 4 nomination e un Oscar vinto per Migliore sceneggiatura non originale a James Ivory, mentre il protagonista del film Timothée Chalamet non è passato inosservato, ricevendo notevoli apprezzamenti per l’interpretazione nel film.

Una cerimonia più attenta, senza sorprese anche nei premi, confermando tutte le previsioni in ogni categoria.
